    International Society for Business and Industrial Statistics (ISBIS) Satellite Conference
    with Focus on Quality Control and Improvement

    Emanuel Pimentel Barbosa (1951-2014), In Memoriam

     

    This Satellite Meeting will be held at the Institute of Mathematics, Statistics and Scientific Computation (IMECC) of the University of Campinas and is linked to the 60th World Statistics Congress (WSC), organised by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), the official statistical agency for Brazil.

    The aim of this meeting is to bring together people from many different backgrounds (statisticians, engineers, and others) and places (from within Brazil and abroad), who are involved/interested in statistical methods and their applications in business and industry, with a focus on quality control and improvement, reliability, time series, pattern recognition, design and analysis of experiments, big data, etc. 

    The following activities are being planned:

    • Short Course (3 sessions of 2 hours, July 22)  “Advanced methods in statistical process control”, Emmanuel Yashchin, IBM T. J. Watson Research Center, USA
    • Keynote Talks
    • Invited Sessions (each talk is about 40 minutes)
    • Short Communication Sessions (each talk is about 20 minutes)

    There will be a fee for the short course, which is kept as low as possible just to recover the costs.
